Reaching Out to the Children for the King

In 1995, R.o.c.k. took the following children’s homes under its wing:

Bramley Children’s Home
Tutela Place of Safety
SOS Children’s Homes
Louis Botha Children’s Home

Since having established relations with children in these homes, R.o.c.k. has counselled them and guarded their rights and interests. Since then, one more Johannesburg Childrens Home (Emdeni) has been added to the list, as well as all the poverty stricken children in Pretoria that we have been asked to assist.

R.o.c.k. takes a very serious view on children's education, and that is why we encourage the completion of schooling. Up to 80% of the children so far have achieved their matric certificates, and we hope to increase these percentages.

Due to the fact that these children are all in Children's Homes, R.o.c.k. has drawn up a Youth Programme, whereby the homes can all get together and have some fun like normal children do. We do things like Banana Nights, Car Rallies, have fun at the malls or just go to the Drive-In! It's important for the children to get out of the Home, as

1. They get bored and resort to naughty things.
2. They get tired of each other.
3. It's a break we are giving to the Home Parents.
4. Important bonding is developed between the R.o.c.k. Team and the children. By this obedience, trust and discipline is earned.

Children look forward to seeing their friends from other homes at a planned R.o.c.k. event. However, these planned programmes can only really be arranged if there are:

a) People to help with the children.
b) People to transport the children.
c) Financial assistance/sponsorship.
d) prayer for the above work.

If you think you can be of some assistance, or if you can give three hours of your time on a Saturday to help, then please do contact us!
